Experimental and Computational Biophysics, primarily involving molecular motors
Steven Gross in interested in questions related to biological physics, broadly defined. He is currently working to understand both how proteins such as molecular motors function at the single molecule level, and how such function is regulated. Further, a main focus of his group is to determine how specific single-molecule properties contribute to emerging ensemble behavior, and how ensembles of molecular motors move cargoes in vivo. His work uses a variety of approaches including experiments and simulations.
